Asian American Identity

In “Chan is Missing”, the filmmaker Wayne Wang makes a space-clearing gesture by never revealing Chan on screen. In other words, he creates the possibility of being Asian American in multiple ways. Using one theoretical text and two popular culture texts, please write an essay in which you discuss and analyze the different ways in which Asian American identity is constructed through popular culture.
Use the Edward Said’s Orientalism as the theoretical text (only the introduction part, if not sure, email me)
Use the film “The World of Susie Wong” and “Chan is missing” as the two popular culture texts.
