In your essay you will be expected to evidence research from at least four of the titles provided as set reading or recommended as further reading and use recognised analytical methods detailed in these and in the unit lectures. You are encouraged to apply these analytical methods to at least two core audiovisual texts but you may find it useful to refer to other examples as appropriate.

Write an essay on one of the following:

All essays must be typewriter or machine printed, double spaced, on one side of number white A4 paper and have a 4cm margin on the left and a 2.5cm margin top, bottom and right.  All research sources utilised must be acknowledged and referenced using a recognised system (Harvard or numerical) within the essay. Quotations (but not bibliography, transcripts etc.) are included in the word count, which must be adhered to.

DO NOT SUMBIT TAPES WITH YOUR ESSAY

Essay Length: 2500 wrods (+/- 5%)

-Use of methods and concepts relevant to the topic
-Critical engagement with the topic
-Independence of thought evidence in essay
-Development and structure of argument

-Accuracy of typescript
-Adherence to formal requirements.
