1) BOOK CRITIQUE: Students will write a 4-5 page book critique on Christopher Hibbert’s Redcoats & Rebels. 1) the review MUST reference 3 (THREE) outside reviews of the book from scholarly journals; 2) the review MUST address: A) Hibbert’s thesis, B) types of sources he used, C) effectiveness of presentation and D) a minimum of 2 (TWO) brief examples that demonstrate how he either PROVED his thesis to your satisfaction or FAILED to prove his thesis; 3) It MUST be typed; 4) Double-spaced; 5) No larger than 12-Pt Type; 6) It MUST have 1 inch margins on both sides of the page, top and bottom; 7) References, quotes, etc. MUST be correctly cited, using the Chicago Manual of Style or Turabian—NOTE: Parenthetical references/AP style will NOT be accepted and such citations will be marked as errors and receive a 10% reduction in grade. A citation style sheet will be posted on BLACKBOARD by the end of the second week of class, which will contain correct citation examples which will be easy to follow.
