Compare and critically evaluate the role and status of play between two different countries within an area of children’s services (e.g. education, health, childcare etc.). This might involve comparing particular educative approaches (e.g. Welsh Foundation Phase, English Foundation Stage, Swedish Forskola system, Reggio Emilia, Te Whariki, Montessori) or different aspects of childcare. Consider strengths, weaknesses, similarities and differences. Use appropriate supporting research evidence. Personal experience may be used to exemplify issues but an academic rather than anecdotal emphasis must be maintained. Work must be supported by reference to appropriate theory, research and policy documentation.
