Order Description

Throughout this course, you will complete several, case study assignments culminating in a paper of 1,250-1,500 words due in the final module. For the final paper, the following must be included:
1.Background information about the case study
2.Analysis of the case study of how the government intervened or did not intervene
3.Policy recommendation on potential new regulations or regulatory changes that could positively impact the issue (in your opinion)

However, prior to submitting the final paper you must first submit a proposal. As a part of the proposal, you will select a current case and conduct research that reflects one or some of these issues:
1.The case should be one in which you can analyze the role of government, the concepts of market efficiency or inefficiency in allocating resources, and/or the concept of a public good.
2.Some good examples include any case in which there has been a failure of government regulation within a free market or in which a government’s allocation of resources toward a public good (parks, highways, etc.) has been misused.
3.Please select a relevant case study within the following general topics:
•Government regulation of environmental issues in the wake of disasters (e.g., the Gulf Oil Spill, Exxon Valdez Spill)
•Government regulation of financial markets
•Government nationalization or partial-nationalization of a business often left to private industry in other cases (building stadiums, operating direct businesses)
•Government incentives to business to promote economic growth

For purposes of this assignment and as a result of the initial research conducted, you will submit a 500-750 word proposal that provides:
1.A description of the case that you selected to be researched.
2.A brief explanation of how the selected relates to the criteria outlined above.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
