Requirements:

Your Slide Deck Presentation (10-15 Powerpoint Slides plus Appendices (Key

Analysis – SWOT, PESTEL etc) plus Reference Slides) should cover the following:

A brief overview of the mission(aims) and recent performance (trends) of the•

Company (ie. Which Products in Which Markets (Annual Report should help here)

Identify• & Justify 4-5 Strategic Issues likely to impact the Company going forward over the next 5 years or so (Justify the issue (opportunity or threat) and the likely extent of its impact on a/the specific part(s) of the Company’s business operations).

For the most important strategic issue facing the company (noted above) – Recommend a feasible strategic option available to the firm. This should also include an evaluation of various strategic options available and their risks – you are required to justify the strategic option you have selected based on credible criteria (i.e. see Rumelt or Whitehead)•

Format (Presentation Style) of Slide Deck: Should be visually attractive with an appropriate mix of text and visual forms of data presentation. Remember, as a consultant, you are presenting this to the CEO of the Company. The Slide Deck should meticulously referenced and written to a professional standard•

The Slide Deck Presentation will be marked using the following criteria:

1) Depth and breadth of research: Use of current, reliable and valid sources and selection of relevant and significant information (10%)

2) Use appropriate techniques, frameworks, and models of strategic analysis to justify strategic issues facing the company (i.e. Industry level analysis, Competitive analysis, Firm performance analysis (to an appropriate extent) Firm resources and capabilities (to the extent possible) (30%)

3) Identification of 4-5 strategic issues facing the firm and propose options available to the firm (20%)

4) Recommend a feasible strategic option available to the firm: (i.e. evaluate options based on credible criteria justify recommendation (and outline risks) (20%)

5) Quality of Slide Deck Presentation (20%) – (i.e. Visually appealing, Graphs and Text referenced and accurately written, Easy to understand & addresses components 1-4 above).
