Raghu, studying in a school, completed his Std. Xth and wants to change his school and take admission in some other school for higher secondary education. He makes an application to the school authorities to give him a transfer certificate, bonafide certificate and a school leaving certificate. The school demanded Rs. 39000/- as fees from Raghu, stating that the school management in the institution’s prospectus had clearly instructed the students to pay the complete fees up to Standard XIIth even if they leave the school after Std. Xth. Also, the school erroneously entered a wrong date of birth in the school leaving certificate and the school in the bonafide certificate mentioned the conduct of the student as bad.
