Order Description
Each study guide should
1. Present your classmates with a useful set of notes they might actually need when completing a class assignment in the future.
2. Include your name and the author you are discussing.
3. Describe the author, and possibly literary works, genres, and/or the historical period. Your goal is to be useful. (If you cut and paste a definition, cite the source in your sentence and provide a link. “According to XX, THIS TERM means . . . .”) This section should be a short paragraph of roughly 3 to 5 sentences. Did this author write anything we read as a class? Is it now a movie? Is there anything that has made this work/author/period more popular lately?
4. Provide three examples of something related to your term. History, literary reputation, famous literary works, critical reception, popularity that might change with the times? Does this author appear to be a part of the literary canon (things everyone is supposed to read)? These can be bullets.
5. Provide two articles (popular, Google search articles are OK) about this concept. Include the link and a short summary of these articles. Plan for 2 to 4 sentences per article.
6. Provide two visuals (or even links to visuals if the tech is not cooperative). These could be diagrams, book jackets, anything appealing. Your choice. Visuals help us absorb information.
7. Use Standard Edited English and easy-to-read formatting.
