General Information
Kelsey Elementary offers a full range of instructional programs aligned to state standards. Special education and gifted education programs are available in addition to language acquisition programs for English Language Learners (ELL). Enrollment for the current school year is 500 students in grades K through five. There are three teachers per grade level for Kindergarten, second, third, fourth and fifth grades. There are four teachers for first grade. Kindergarten and first and second grades each have at least three instructional aides to insure that each student receives quality one-on-one time.
Resources available at the school site include a newly remodeled computer lab, media center, and choir room. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills through school sponsored activities such as spelling bees, science fairs, academic competitions, and musical presentations. Extracurricular activities offered include student council, orchestra, chorus, and chess club. Social services available include counseling services, lunch program, and a school/community liaison.
