Autobiography

My name is John Wu. I was born in Vietnam and English is my second language. Since I left Vietnam I have travelled there once. I have been married for fifteen years and I have three children. The children are aged 12, 8 and 2 years of age. My first two children are girls, the lastborn is a boy. I live with my family at the Falls Church, Virginia. Career wise, I have been a Registered Nurse for seven years.

Becoming a nurse has numerous benefits. It presents a very promising challenge to the challenges that are facing health care today. This skill especially at an advanced stage, has offered me an opportunity to expand my role in patient care (Greenberg et al, 2010). The skill earned at an advanced level has sharpened my skills in diagnoses and treatment of various chronic and acute conditions. Providing primary and acute care in settings presenting different challenges is no longer a challenge to me. Gaining specific skills in subspecialties like gastroenterology, dermatology, urology, neurology, and hematology has enabled me to provide the best care to clients helping them alienate pain and get well at the end of the treatment.

Advanced level nursing has enabled me provide primary care with a basis of evidence. I have a rationale for every action I do to a client. I am able to participate in high level research and add to the body of knowledge in my profession. With the skill, I am well prepared to participate in curriculum development in the education sector. At an age when administration issues are raising a threat, I am well armed with the skill of advanced Nursing. Supervision of lower cadres in the clinical practice too, I can do perfectly.

My goal in this profession is to cooperate with fellow members of the health profession and see to it that the needs of clients are met with little strain, especially on the limited resources. My expectations at the end of this course is that I will be in a position to provide expert nursing care, offer consultation services in the clinical area, strengthen the link between research and clinical practice, and enhance a learning environment for nurses, researches, students, clients as well as other stakeholders in the health sector.
