The assignment I discussed in class last night is a variation of an assignment found in the Data Workshop on p. 481 of your textbook. You are asked to keep track of all interactions withany screen during a 24 hour period, including TV/laptop/tablet/wristwatch (if applicable)/smartphone/etc, i.e., any& all screens including the big one outside the Bryce Jordan Center, or, the one at the gym (if applicable). While keeping track of the total amount of screen time (admittedly, an estimate) also pay attention to what prompts you to go to a screen, including the obvious phone rings/text msg arrives and the not-so-obvious: you’re bored, or, waiting for a reply to w/e. Please write up your results, includingwhether your estimate exceeded or not the average Millenial screen time per day: 7.6 hours, as discussed in class.
