Select two short stories we read this semester (they may be stories you have written about before). (1) make a comparative argument about three elements these two stories have in common. These elements can be related to structure, type of narration and point of view, character, setting, symbolism and figurative language. The elements don NOT have to be similar, but they have to yield a good comparison, even if they are different. (2) describe how each of these 3 elements function in each story. (3) compare and contrast these 3 elements respectively in the two stories. Clearly connect this comparison to your thesis argument and show how your formal analysis and comparison serve as a way to demonstrate your thesis.
