The assignment- Choose one of the three options listed below:
1. Select a creative work — a book, a story, a film, a poem, a musical piece, a painting or any other work of art — that has influenced the way you view the world and/or the way you view yourself. Using the techniques of creative non-fiction writing as discussed in class and in your readings, write a 550-700 word essay about your chosen work and its effect on you.

2. Choose an event or an experience in your life that has contributed in some way to who you are today. Using the techniques of creative non-fiction writing, explain the event, how it changed you, and why it is important in your growth as a person in a 550-700 word essay.

3. Choose to write a personal essay on any event or topic of your choice. You must discuss it with me for approval before submitting your outline. Using the techniques of creative non-fiction writing, write a 550-700 word essay.
The requirements- Your assignment must include the following:
• Your name
• Numbered pages
• An introduction, a body, and a conclusion
• A word count included in brackets at the end of your essay
Due dates- Your final paper is due on October 28. If you choose to, you can hand in your pre-writing outline and rough draft for instructor’s review and feedback. The due dates for each part are listed below.
