Topic:

Technology developments have rendered the question of employee rights, including the right to privacy more and more complex. Prepare a report examining some of the most recent Canadian cases on this topic and highlight the practical challenges that this area of law represents for employers. What are some approaches employers may take to manage these issues? Among the topics to consider are employee access to technology, employee use of technology at the workplace, social media and employee online activity, workplace policies on employee privacy and technology use, and vicarious liability.
