You are a PR/Marketing Associate team for an organization that recommends strategies and methods to companies that are looking to promote, advertise and/or market their services or products through the Internet.

You have been asked by the company’s president, Darlene Franchetti to provide a three page memo report for her prior to her meeting with (The name of your team’s selected company).

The purpose of your brief report is to inform her about the company, assess where the client currently is in terms of their social media use, and what two social mediums you – and then she – would recommend for that the company’s use.

Your report should include the following sections:

1. Introduction: Introduce the company to her and briefly, inform her (ME) of what they do. Don’t assume that your president is familiar with the company. (This should be a brief overview of the company. Approximately 2-3 paragraphs). Please select a well-known company that uses social media.

Look at the industry of your selected organization. Are they a supermarket? A soda company? Sports organization? Local, national or international? Youth or adult oriented? INDICATE WHO THEIR TARGETED AUDIENCE CONSISTS OF

2. Social Media: Then, indicate three social media platforms used by that selected company. You and your team will decide (Twitter, FB, etc….) which three you will select.

b Determine and explain of the three which is the one social medium that your team effectively uses the best to reach its targeted audience.

c. Select and recommend one other social media site not currently used by your selected company.

d… and provide her with an overview of that selection AND a recommendation as to how and why the company should also use that to reach its audience. (How it’s used, who uses it, provide some examples, etc.).

Remember, she may not be familiar with your two choices

1. Select and review a well-known company that effectively uses popular social media sites such as – but not limited to – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, Google+, Groupon, MySpace ,Vine, LinkedIn (or even e-mail) as a means and strategy to communicate and disseminate PR messages with/to its audience.

2. Select a company that provides regularly scheduled social media daily updates and offers a product or service that is available for purchase/use by the public.

3. Select a company that has information readily available via the WWW.

4. Refer to your Study Guide, as well as the readings in Learning Module 1 and 2.

5. Team assignment. One “Memo” per team = one grade per team

6. Present a concise, well thought-out three page “Memo” report. 3 pages total.

Refer to the many memo templates available in Word as well as those you will find in a web search.
