For this assignment, you will write 1-2 pages (aprox. 500-550 words) in response to the article in our book on page 170-172, “Mayak: The Unknown Disaster” by Ksenia Laney.

When writing a reading response, you can think about ideas like:
a. What does the text have to do with you, personally,
b. How much does the text agree or clash with your view of the world, and what you consider right and wrong?
c What did you learn, and how much were your views and opinions challenged or changed by this text, if at all?
d. How well does it address things that you, personally, care about and consider important to the world?
f. How well did you enjoy the text (or not) as entertainment or as a work of art? what is your overall reaction to the text?

Remember, in a reading response, YOU ASSUME YOUR READER HAS ALREADY READ THE ARTICLE. So there’s no need to summarize it. But still mention the article and author’s name. The rest of the paper is reflection. Begin with a thesis and then develop it.
