Create an argument about the supernatural facets of the natural world, based on what has interested you from our sources thus far. Explore your argument in an essay of 3-4 pages.

If you cannot come up with your own argument, consider choosing a question from the list below. You dont have to respond directly to each point of the question, nor do you have to respond to all parts in the order they appear within the question.

1) Are superstitions or mystical beliefs a good or bad thing? Neither?

6) Explore the degress of objective and subjective meaning when it comes to nature and magic.

Argument Essay

Now that you have read and discussed Alfie Kohn’s article, “From Degrading to De-Grading,” write an argument in which you take a position on the relevance and necessity of grades in the education system. What purpose do they serve? Are they necessary? And why? Remember to support your claim with evidence and logical reasoning.

The Format:

A 5 page essay, which is typed (12-point font), double-spaced, and has one-inch margins. Please include your name, the course number, the essay number, the date and an appropriate title on the first page of your essay.

The Evaluation Criteria:

I will be assessing your essay based on the following:

The strength of your thesis

The strength of your evidence

The strength of your logical reasoning

The effective acknowledgement and rebuttal of the counterarguments

Your essay should have a strong organizational structure—your ideas should flow one from another in a logical manner
