The paper should center around a theory section wherein you work out the mathematical properties and predictions of a structural economic model. This will be complemented by a (subsidiary) data/empirical section. The empirical section should have nice charts and graphs that allow the reader to easily visualize and appreciate your datasets. The bibliography should make it as simple as possible to track down your key sources and references.

The paper should contain the following:

1. Clear statement of the topic, and a title for the paper
2. A formal research question or thesis statement
3. Description of a specific economic model (cournot duopoly) or models that you will study (and possibly try to extend) in the theoretical section of your paper. This will include a brief discussion of the model’s core mathematical and theoretical properties.
4. The empirical or econometric approach you will take in applying the model to real data. This will include practical information vis-à-vis which variables you will measure at which times and for which economic actors.
5. An explanation of how your work will try to add novelty to the literature. For example, you can try to tweak the model’s assumptions and foundations to see how its predictions change, or you can try to apply the model to an interesting new dataset. (This does not have to be very creative, just make sure you apply to a legit dataset)
6. Proper citation of the data found and two or more journal articles that your paper will build on.
