Then put in a heading within the same initial response:  “My opinion” and respond

Reminder: initial post including “My opinion” must be at least 250 words

You are required to respond to two other student’s initial posts (reminder: each response must be at least 100 words).

This week we also explored colonization. How did the experience of conquest and colonization differed for men and women. Briefly summarize the gender differences experienced by different populations.  Why did these differences occur?

In addition, we explore theoretical approaches regarding prejudice. Explain which approach explains prejudice best (personality-centered approaches, culture-based approaches, or power-culture theories). How might understanding these theories help guide policy makers dealing with issues of prejudice and discrimination?  Or, how might they use what they know to create social change in communities in regards to prejudice and discrimination?

My opinion:

This chapter describes prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination. What prejudice and discrimination do you currently see happening around you?  What theories described in this chapter would support your opinions?  Is there a intersection of race, gender and socioeconomic status?
