These questions should all be answered from the lecture notes or videos
of the lectures (sessions 1 through 12). In your answers you do not need to give
citations for facts taken from the notes or videos. If those are your only sources
(which is what I expect) you don’t need to footnote at all. Also note that the
answers must be your own work and in your own words.

essay form. Length 500 to 1000 words. In your answer indicate which question

essay form. Length 250 to 500 words. In your answer indicate which question

a) How was glass shaped by artisans in antiquity?
b) Describe the types of olive-crushers and fruit-presses that were used in
antiquity.
c) Describe the structure of a Roman road. How did highways differ from streets
in the city?
d) Describe the ways in which pottery could be coloured (i.e. surface treatments)
in antiquity.
e) Illustrate the term “chalcolithic” by reference to ancient Egyptian culture.
f) Describe the main types of kiln used in antiquity for making pottery
