Objective: To create a support plan and to evaluate the plan
Scenario:
You have an inclusion pre k class of 12 students and 4 students who have learning disabilities such as autism. Jeremy’s mom says he comes home asking why some of students do not get in trouble for certain behaviors such as yelling. He’ll ask why they do not look at him while talking or why one classmate is always moving his hands. He is questioning the behaviors of the students with learning disabilities.
Focus Assignment:
The goal is to teach the students how to positively communicate with those who have abilities as well as to accept their peers. With that in mind, come up with a three-step plan to encourage positive attitudes towards all classmates in regards to abilities as well as educating the children.
Group activities as well as a couple of talking points to bring up in a classroom meeting can be incorporated.
Self Evaluation:
For each step in your plan
Explain how this will help Jeremy and the other students to have a better understanding of the different abilities.
Provide connections from the book for each lesson item.
Explain how this plan will improve your classroom and provide a positive environment for ALL students.
