Directions for the Periodical Critique/Abstract
1. Find an article in a periodical. What is a periodical? Try to tie this assignment to paper four. What are your possible topics for paper four?

2. Summarize the article. A summary should be in your own words.
3. React to the article. Is the article credible? What is the source of the article? Who is the author? You may need to conduct some outside research on the author. Is the article written for a general audience or a professional audience? Is the article an in-depth one, or is the article brief? What could be added to article? What did you learn? What did you wish you learned? Etc.
4. A work cited entry for the article should appear at the top of the page. Use the most current form of MLA to construct the work cited entry. Use your LB Handbook (MLA section) for info. regarding how to format a work cited entry.
