Analysis of Stone Cold by Robert Swindells and The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins My Understanding of the Wider World and Myself

From the two novel, I have come to realize that the world is competitive, and Charles Darwin’s, survival for the fittest, hold much water. This is exceptionally true because, in both novels, the main characters did not have a walk in the park. For instance, in Links’ case he had to endure the life in the street to an extend that he exchanged greeting with death. This communicated that in life sometime there is no option B.
Another thing that came up conspicuously was the unmercifulness of some few individuals in the society. This is supported in both novels where Shelter felt that the homeless in the street did not have the right to live, therefore, resolved to killing them as mean of cleaning the street. In the hunger game, play maker enjoyed seeing the contestant kill each other to mark annual celebrations. This is not supported by any religion, meaning someone should not determine the other’s death.
Having discovered all the above, it has dawned to me that someone has to fight for the vulnerable in society. It is, therefore, high time the youths me included, to make sure that whatever transpired in these novels, which is the true reflection of the society is curbed.
My Responsibility in the World
It saddens that a fraction of the society is suffering while another portion is using their tears to create wealth. This is witnessed in the hunger game where the organizers bring devilishly innocent young people to fight to death in the name of celebration while they collect arena fee. In stone cold, Link and the other homeless dwellers had to battle with the situation they never wish they came on the earth to presume. My responsibility is to make sure that I leave the earth a better place than I got it. To fulfill this, I have to advocate through the relevant bodies to make sure homeless are protected by law. The government of the day should make sure they access all privileges because they are not lesser people compared to the rich
How my Understanding has Developed
First, the two novels have shown me another dirty side of the leaders. For example, in capitol the leader who should offer protection are the ones witnessing their people butcher each other in an arena while they get entertained. This implies that when leaders are elected they should be vetted deeply. Another lesson from both novels is the spirit of friendship and unity . This is noteworthy because it can save from an enemy due to that united fighting spirit during crisis. Additionally, I have discovered that when trying to help people below your class, disguising to be the same with them is the way to go.
Connection Between the Two Novels
The two novels are written in the environment where the society is not fair to everyone. Link is not able to prosper in life making his life hang mercilessly for fate to determine. In the hunger game, Katniss, had to presume a terrifically hard position by deciding to take the sister mantle in the arena. For these two novel, , it is clear that love is unavoidable feeling, and it develop regardless of the situation. For instance, it extended in the arena between Katniss and Peeta, a place where death is the order of the day. It also did not care about the homelessness of Link and Gail.
