American Revolution

1.TOPIC: The topic must fall within the subject area of History 111 or History 112, as the case may be, and must be approved by the instructor.

2.LENGTH OF TEXT: The length of the paper must be a MINIMUM of seven (7) text pages, meaning the actual writing about the subject—not six and a half or six and three-fourths pages, but a minimum of seven pages. Only half the points will be awarded for less than seven pages and only one-tenth of the points for less than five (5) pages.

3.OTHER PAGES: There must also be a title page, a page of endnotes, and a bibliography page. These pages do not necessarily have to be whole pages. When considered with the seven text pages, a total minimum of ten (10) pages for the entire paper is required.

4.OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The research paper must strictly adhere to the following additional requirements:
A.MARGINS: Margins must be one inch on all four sides. The student should measure the margins prior to turning the paper in.
B.FONT SIZE: The paper must be typed in 12-point font or equivalent.
C.DOUBLE SPACING: The text pages must be double-spaced (but not greater), and no greater spacing between paragraphs.
D.PARAGRAPH INDENTATION: The first line of each paragraph should be indented 5 or 7 spaces (be consistent) to indicate a new paragraph.
E.INTRODUCTION/BODY/CONCLUSION FORMAT: The paper must observe the usual introduction/body/conclusion format.
F.FORMAT OF ENDNOTES AND BIBLIOGRAPHIC ENTRIES: The Reynolds format in the paper on “Footnotes/Endnotes and Bibliographies” must be used for the endnotes and the bibliography.
G.NUMBER OF ENDNOTES: There must be a MINIMUM of ten endnotes, and each source cited in the bibliography must be used at least once in the endnotes.
H.NUMBER OF SOURCES: There must be a MINIMUM of ten sources in the bibliography, and each must be used at least once in the endnotes. At least two sources must be books from the library. A third book source can be the text for the class. The rest can be internet sources.
I.TITLE PAGE: The title page must include the title of your paper, your name, History 111 or 112 with Section Number, Instructor Name, Semester/Session and Year, and date, and can be arranged as you wish.
J.ASSEMBLY OF THE PAPER: The paper must be assembled as follows: (1) Title Page, (2) Text Pages, (3) Endnotes, and (4) Bibliography.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to observe more than 2 requirements above = a significant point reduction
