Alcatraz

California places: California is comprised of extremely diverse locales, each with its own distinct bioregion and cultural mix. For this essay you are to research a particular California locale (Alcatraz) and write an essay that analyzes and explores a particular way that that locale establishes itself as a place. Focus must be specific and very narrow! Remember, this is not to be a "tourist guide" but rather an argumentative analysis of a place.
