Students must write four scholarly 3-5 page scholarly reviews of the
required readings, one of which must be Patrick Manning, African Diaspora:
A History through Culture (Columbia University Press, 2010). Students are
strongly encouraged to complete the review of Patrick Manning’s text as a
group assignment. The remaining three book reviews must be completed
individually.
