Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Paper instructions:
Classical liberalism, the moral and social philosophy that guided the early republic, rested on a few significant assumptions about human nature: people are self interested, or egoistic, rational, and inert. Read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in its entirety and make a case for the truth or fallacy of these assumptions as they pertain to the lower classes. Remember, you must read the book in its entirety in order to make a thorough evaluation of these concepts. You must assess the lives of all the characters whom represent the lower classes, in all their “adventures” to fully understand whether the assumptions of classical liberalism are confirmed or contradicted. The essay should be 3 pages, typed and double-spaced. Your essay needs a thesis statement in the introductory paragraph. Each following paragraph must elaborate an aspect of your thesis by supplying the supportive textual evidence and your explanation as to why the evidence is relevant to your thesis.
