For your third formal assignment, write a paper about a current issue that concerns you and try to convince the audience to your point of view. (I’d rather you stay away from highly, highly controversial issues, i.e. no gay marriage or abortion topics.)

This needs to be an objective paper (i.e. no using “I” or “you”).

Use World Views, our class discussions, the news, etc. to get ideas. Try to write the paper for as broad an audience as possible. For that reason, do not use religion in your argument unless you can speak about it OBJECTIVELY and use it in comparison to other religions.

Make sure that you use counterargument and aren’t just making a 5 page rant. Think professional, yet persuasive, in terms of tone.

The finished paper should be a minimum of 1300 words (about 5 pages, typed and double-spaced, not counting the Works Cited page).

Please include at least 3 quotations that help you get your argument across (or they can work into your counterargument, too).
