1. Explain the point of towards sin in “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” How does O’Connor problematize the binaries of good and evil in the text.
2. Discuss the use of irony, setting, symbolism, or characterization in either stories by both O’Connor or TC Boyle. Make sure you show how these elements illustrate major themes presented by either authors.
3. Examine the theme of “Hypocrisy” in both stories by Boyle and O’Connor. How is it illustrated in the texts?
4. Compare gender depiction/stereotyping/characterization in “Carnal Desire” and a story of your choice.
