You may need to find information about the following questions and ideas to be able to develop your paper.

What Evolutionary Theory (Darwin’s theory)is about and how this view conflicts with religious belief?
What Genesis Story of Creation (in Christianity, Islam, etc.) is about and how does it conflict with science?
Then consider doing a research on these ideas:
How is evolution and the origin of life taught in Kansas schools and in science classes now and compared with the past?
Is there any advocacy group or campaign for or against teaching evolutionary theory and/or Creation in Kansas schools? If so, what are these movements? What is the result?

Why should teaching evolutionary theory be a concern for parents or teachers in Kansas schools?
How does this issue reflect the typical attitude and/or belief of Kansas people?

[NOTE: You will get some information about Evolutionary Theory in HWC class and while we are reading and discussing chapter 14 of the book “The Center of Everything” (pages 220 – 238)]
Presentation of the project:
You are required to present your project to the class at the last session of discussion class on Friday, 4th of December for up to 5 minutes. You are encouraged to use a visual means such as PowerPoint to present your project. You will get some feedback in this day to revise your final draft.

** The 75 points for the final draft will be break down into:
Introduction and Thesis Statement (10 points)
Body of the Paper and Developing Ideas (45 points)
Conclusion (5 points)
Correct Citation and the Reference Page (10 points)
Grammar and Writing Skills (5 points)
