OU Blogs to prepare e Portfolios and prepare for employment in the field.
Using material collected in your e Portfolio over the term as examples; critically evaluate

your knowledge and awareness of:
• Your understanding of the clients’ experiences
• your participation in supervision and professional development in the field
• the influence of the placement setting on understanding of future employment

Your OU Blogs journal should be updated on a weekly basis. Your supervisor will ask you to share links to various entries over the course of the term, and you can discuss these with the supervisor and your peers.
The written assessment at the end of term will draw on these reflections and link them to theory.
This assessment is both a self-reflection and an academic essay – your journals will
document your growing awareness of the agency, its clients, the ways in which the
theories you have studied in your degree apply to the workplace, and your own sense of where you are best suited to the workforce. You should be aiming to show a deep understanding of the range of influences underpinning the organisation and how your time there has added to your understanding work you are engaging in.

2. Describe the application of knowledge and theories in the workplace
3. Describe social science concepts, and how they relate to clients, colleagues and
management
4. Reflect on knowledge and insights gained during placement, particularly in reference to the development of the organisation’s philosophy and how it is operationalised
5. Reflect on how placement has helped to prepare for employment
