An exercise on: “Effective Compliance Program Essentials”
The Office of Inspector general (OIG) strongly recommends the adoption of a corporate compliance plan as it helps limit the risk of compliance errors and limits the liability of management and directors. An effective program can also limit liability under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which are rules that demand consistency in sentencing as it applies to felonies. More importantly, an effective compliance plan gives employees the guidelines necessary to follow the laws and allows management to know that the laws are being followed.
For our learning activity, each student will be designated as a new compliance manager of a healthcare organization and be required to:
Describe in writing, the steps you will take to ensure that your compliance plan is legal and effective. Your paper will need to be written professionally, formatted according to APA standards, and incorporate at least two outside sources. Submit your assignment by the due date posted.
