Imagine that you are an executive for XYZ, Inc., a high-end retail chain that sells luxury watches, jewelry, and hand bags. You€â€žÂ¢ve just been put in charge of the company€â€žÂ¢s first international expansion, ing a store in Shanghai, China. This will be a short-term, small-scale change for the organization. After one year, you will be expected to begin ing additional stores in Brazil, Russia, India, and China (also known as the B.R.I.C. countries). This will be a long-term, large-scale change.

In five pages, explain which change model you would follow for the short-term change and which you would follow for the long-term change. Provide rationale for your decision and discuss the effects that these changes would have on the employees, managers, and executives within the organization. Include at least three references and one being from Ashford Library and follow standard APA formatting for your paper.

There are many valid organizational change models. Most change models include discussions on strategic vision, the role of the leader, resistance to change, and the communication process. The purpose of this assignment is to introduce the student to principles common to most change models.
To successfully complete this assignment, research organizational change models. Select TWO different models of organizational change (please do not use Kotter’s 8 Steps of Change, as this model is thoroughly discussed elsewhere in the course).
Write a comparison essay that discusses how each model addresses the following issues:
• Role of the leader in the change initiative.
• Overcoming resistance to change.
• Communication process.
Application: Within your paper, critically evaluate the relative strengths and weaknesses of each model. (Note: critical and creative thinking are expected.)

Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines. An abstract is not required.
This assignment uses a grading rubric. Instructors will be using the rubric to grade the assignment; therefore, students should review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.
