Unit 7 Writing Assignment

Due by midnight on Sunday.

Evaluate the effectiveness, or ineffectiveness, of both the Compromise of 1850 and the Kansas-Nebraska Act.

Submit your response as a Microsoft Word document. Your response should be no shorter than one page and no longer than two pages double spaced. Use times new roman font, size 12. You do not need a title page or page numbers, but you do need to include a references page listing all of your sources. Use APA format in-text citations to cite your sources within the response. This format is (last name of author, publishing date). For example: “… and General Washington’s heroics during the Revolutionary War made him the leading choice for president” (Smith, 2008). Be very careful to avoid plagiarism, as accidental or intended plagiarism will both result in a zero on the assignment. To practice good habits for the upcoming final paper, break your paper into paragraphs and avoid the use of the first person voice (I, me, you, we, our) and contractions (don’t, won’t, can’t, aren’t, isn’t, etc.) in your paper.
