Watch the film interstellar and answer the following questions:

Who made this film (film studio, producers, director, writer)? Were there unique circumstance during the production of the film that stand out? What actresses/actors are in the film? Was the film’s success or failure related to the reputation of any of its cast or crew? How as the film marketed? What was its target audience? What kind of reviews did the movie receive?

What social and political issues influenced the making and/or release of the film? Can you trace the themes and characterizations in the movie to topical issues? Does the film’s legacy tell us something about cultural attitudes during the time of its release? How might we compare those attitudes to today? Does the film still have relevance?
What artistically stands out about the film? Consider the individual style of the filmmaker. How is dialogue, music, editing, camera, set and costume design used in a distinctive way? What are the narrative themes that stand out in the film? How does the visual style of the movie work to convey those themes?

In identifying aspects of the industrial, historical, and stylistic components of the film, think about how the three work together, influencing one another.
