Sociology is a course that is offered at many institutions of higher learning.  It is a course that involves a lot of reading, theorizing and writing papers on various issues that touch on day to day life. Students pursuing a degree in Sociology will quite often be required to pick on an aspect of life which they consider impacts on mankind, either positively or negatively and then discuss its pros and cons in depth. You may be required to address the plight of students living in refugee camps, people grappling with the effects of drug addiction, housing problems in certain areas among many other social issues.
