I would like to receive a Research Question & Objectives in a management (MBA) related field.

Explanation of the problem/issue and justify why it is important, both from an organisational and a personal perspective, and a series of precisely written objectives, a few key objectives(at least 5 to 6); details of the literature (i.e. theory base); and proposed research methodology to include observable outcomes, that flow from this.

If interesting, we will work to produce a research proposal.

. The proposal prepared may be the one which I follow for my dissertation but this is not essential. The specification of a solid research question may take days to formulate, so you need to give this a lot of thought. There is a need for a very specific and deep research question (so the research is narrow but deep). Even though you are masters, it is very important that you start thinking about a research question and objectives that will draw my attention and we start (I order) a Research Proposal (you will be notified when this is to take place). The research question is absolutely critical for the success of the research as it guides the formulation of objectives and guides the data collection and analysis methods (because the point of data collection and analysis methods are to provide information to answer the research question).

My advice would be to read as much as you can about formulating research questions and draft and re-draft your question/s until we are happy that your question/s is narrow and deep and has a symmetry of outcomes (interesting to the reader whichever way the research turns out).

When the work is sent:

The research question and objectives have a brief introductory context

The research question is specific and focus (narrow and deep topic of study)

The objectives dovetail into the research question

It looks like a lot of thought and work has gone into formulating the initial idea

It shows evidence by the way it is crafting that the writer realises that this is an important and challenging topic.
