design and life cycle assessment

Paper details:You are part of a company’s engineering group asked to design a new cellular phone thatis essentially disposable – that is, the expected useable life span is 12-18 months.
Discuss the ethics of this approach.
Highlight what if any are the differences between designing one for the Canadian market
and one for a relatively undeveloped country?
In order to assess the new phone’s overall environmental impact, what needs to be
considered in a life cycle assessment (LCA) of the fabrication, operation and disposal
stages of the phone?
In total, your report should not exceed three pages (references can be put on a fourth
page).
Your report should be fully referenced within the text, including any pictures or diagrams
used. Also make sure you include at the end of the report a list of all References used in
the text.
For a guide on how to use references in the text and compile a reference list, refer to the
separate Assignment Guidelines loaded up on D2L.
On-line encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia, are not acceptable as a reference – you must
quote the original source (e.g., journal article, book, technical report, company website
etc.).
Any late reports and/or blatant copying of other work, such as cutting and pasting
of text from web pages, will be penalized.
Please place a hard (paper) copy of your report in my mail slot in the Engineering
School Office, on or before Monday 4th, April 2016. Soft copies (e.g., email
attachments) cannot be accepted.
