Due Date: March 17, at the beginning of class

1. Imaging a dream project that you would like to undertake that has a feminist or social justice focus. Your project could be a research, creative, or activist one. It should be a project that you could realistically complete in 4-8 months.

2. Your assignment is to write a proposal for this project. Divide the proposal into the following sections:

Abstract (~1 page):
• a one- to two-paragraph summary of the project

Theoretical Approach (~2-3 pages):
• the theoretical perspective(s) informing your work and why these will be useful

Significance (~2-3 pages):
• why you want to do this project
• an argument about why this project would constitute feminist or social justice work
• the significance of the project (answering the “so what?” question)

Dissemination (~1 page):
• how you would want to present your project and how you would want this work to be used (who benefits?)

3. Quote or paraphrase at least four of our course readings in your proposal. Ideas, concepts, and themes from the course should inform your proposal, especially the “theoretical approach” and “significance” sections.

4. Additional research is encouraged, but not required.

5. Look at final assignment rubric for further details of my expectations. You will be assessed on the strength of the proposed project, its do-ability, engagement with secondary sources, organization and structure, and clarity of the writing.

6. Proofread and submit your assignment on March 17.
