Analyzing Arguments, Analyzing Evidence

Serial season 1Analyzing Arguments, Analyzing Evidence: You will listen to all 12 episodes of the Serial podcast, in order of the episodes. You will then write an essay that analyzes the arguments made by the prosecution and defense and subsequently analyzes the evidence used by both sides. When analyzing arguments, you should use Toulmin’s model of argument to map at least three arguments you hear on the podcasts. If a component of the model is missing from the argument, you should provide details as to what might be used to fulfill the missing component. When analyzing evidence, you should pay attention to the seven tests of evidence in an argument—accessibility, credibility, internal consistency, external consistency, recency, relevance, and adequacy. Your paper should be 800-1000 words and should be in APA format.
