Research Report
Over the years, baseball was originally taken as a recreational activity. However there has been an evolution and transformation of black and white players in their distinctive leagues. It has become more competitive, and even till this day, one can look back and see the huge difference from the past. The breakthrough for blacks came in as black Leagues were formed, however, it slowly declined in the
1960’s as the Major leagues took its place. Research has been done as to how it all began in 1885 for the Cuban Giants, the first black baseball team to its actual decline. Though its existence may have gone, black negro leagues are still remembered and respected through its surviving players. Based on my
research so far, I have identified some key individuals with vast experience of black baseball and intend to tap into their knowledge. They will be my primary sources. I have identified three online /book sources. I intend to get more sources relating to black Negro leagues because I intend to have a better
perspective of what it really felt like to be a black baseball player. (this was the summary I gave as to the progress I had already made)
