Consider the issue of non-compete agreements in your case analysis.

Case Study Assignment Instructions
An analyses of 4-5 pages is required. The paper is an individual assignments and should reflect your own thoughts on the following Elements of Case Analysis.
When writing the case study, do not reproduce the language in the case study, i.e., no quotes.
Doing so will reduce your grade. Paraphrase everything you use from the case study. Outside sources should not be used. Be succinct. Spell check and grammar check the assignment; find and correct errors. Be sure every point is expressed clearly.
Formatting:
• On the title page, put your name, the case name and the due date
• Use underlined titles for each section of the paper, i.e., Key Facts, Ethical Issues Involved, etc
• Use 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font and double space the paper using 1″ margins
• Use MLA formatting if you include outside references
• Be sure to appropriately credit the original article if you quote or paraphrase material
Elements of Case Analysis
• Determine the relevant facts. (This summary should not exceed one page.)
(Note: You do NOT need to state what facts might be missing that you would like to have known.)
• Identify and explain the key ethical issue(s) involved in the case. That is, identify moral standards (honesty, fidelity, confidentiality, autonomy, injustice)
o Taking things that don’t belong to you
o Saying things you know are not true, or giving or allowing false impressions
o Buying influence or engaging in a conflict of interest
o Hiding information that should not be hidden
o Acting disloyally/not keeping promise or meeting obligation
o Revealing information that should be kept confidential
o Taking unfair advantage of others, i.e., manipulation, coercion, capitalizing on weaknesses (e.g., children)
o Committing personal decadence
o Perpetrating interpersonal abuse
o Permitting organizational abuse
o Violating rule
o Denying justice or fairness
o Condoning unethical actions
o Balancing ethical obligations
• Identify the key stakeholders and explain how they would view this situation.
• Use “moral imagination” to generate at least two potential alternatives to address the problem.
• Explain the implications of these alternatives relative to:
o The Utilitarian View (the greatest good for the greatest number)
o The Deontological (Kantian) View (duties, rights and principles)
o Virtue Ethics (implications for personal integrity and character)
• Offer a solution to the problem that you defend as being sound from both an ethical and business perspective. (This solution can be one of the alternatives you identified or a combination of parts of them.

o 75% analysis, thorough exploration of the elements of case analysis (above)
o 25% style, grammar, spelling, clarity
The cases are due by 11:59 PM of the date indicated on the Calendar. For each 24 hours late 10% of the total available points will be deducted
