Project

1. Students will be provided with a nursing examination which contains statistics about the item analysis. From this data the student will analyze the performance of each item and provide explanations or rationale about each item’s performance. The student will identify which items on the examination need to be revised and provide rationale and suggestions for the revision.

Objective examination

Each student will construct a 15 item comprehensive examination based on a content area provided by the instructor. The exam must consist of at least 60% multiple-choice questions. At least 20 % of the exam must contain other exam formats. The remaining 20% is up to the student. A test map will be utilized to divide the items by nursing process and cognitive level. The test is to evaluate critical thinking in nursing students. Rationale for each item must accompany the examination.
