Do you feel the statistics provided in the opening chapter are an accurate depiction of the abuse levels in adolescents today? Why or why not? What factors might prevent an accurate representation if there is one?
After reading the high school experiences of “authentic voices” in chapter two, what factors do you see consistently appearing for these students that may have contributed to their abuse and ultimate addiction to drugs and/or alcohol? What advice would you provide to help avoid those factors (if possible)
After reading the college experiences of “authentic voices” in chapter two, what do you think the greatest advantage of having this monitored independence available to young adults? What do you think these students see as most advantageous to their education and sobriety?
