Mostly each and every one of the diverse Islamic communities in the world have strict moral values and customs regarding women and harassment. Even in countries like Saudi Arabia, where gender discrimination is prevalent and so poignant we witness a large amount of women that are being harassed. In the Qahera comic, the author presents the superhero as a character that totally doesn’t accept the fact of sexual harassment. In her first comic she says “I’m going to testify with you against these perverts”, the author is showing the audience a real-life conflict and how the superhero just saved a girl’s life in the comic. Most men in the middle east impose restrictions on women that are related to them or close-family members just for the sake of not putting them victim to harassment, since the community we live in is male dominated and holds misogynistic views on women. According to a reporter in Syria “women there can’t fight back, they are sold, raped, enslaved, and brutally harassed”. This reflects on the topic of harassment of women in the Arab world because daily millions of women are facing the same danger, many women are calling for prevention efforts to stop this issue from occurring. Usually, in poor Arab countries where civil war and poverty is always occurring, sexual harassment rates are increasingly on a daily basis and a lot of families are being broken up by this worldwide conflict. For example, in Syria where war is raging and most of the governments legal and administrative institutions have collapsed women are in danger and the chances of men to harass them are way higher than they were before.
