Write a 3-4 page paper responding to the readings for a class. You should respond to each reading individually, and all readings collectively.

Individually, you should interrogate each reading by addressing its thesis, or argument, and how the author makes his points (what kind of evidence she deploys, and what kind of rhetoric he uses). You should evaluate the assumptions does the author makes, the strengths and weaknesses of the text, and possible counterarguments to the text’s claims. Finally, you should consider the historical context of the text, if it is a primary source, its audience and the intentions of the author.

Collectively, you should address how the readings relate. How do they complement or contradict each other? How do they fit into the broader narratives that you find in Chafe?

All sources must be cited.
