Must have a clear thesis statement
A smoothe introduction
All evidence must be linked to the thesis and clearly explained
There must be quotations from sources and those quotes must be smoothly incorporated into the students’ writing
Transtions must be used to link ideas, or to shift from one topic to another
Writing an outline is HIGHLY recommended
Other types of prewriting are of course always useful
All sources must be cited
Works cited page (Not counted as one of the 2-5 pages)
