You are to produce a formal, professional report on the event considering key operational aspects and theory (3000 words). This should demonstrate your understanding and application of techniques taught throughout the module. You will be provided with guidance on this during the module. You may use appendices in your report but they must be referred to in the main body of the report.
The information will be presented by using a formal, professional report format containing specific details on the application of the theoretical topics taught in class to elements of your chosen event. You must include the following:
1. A mission statement with 4 clear and achievable and SMART objectives
2. The adoption of an event planning model suitable for your event
3. A critical discussion of the event concept presenting how it meets your customer needs
4. An analytical discussion on Tum at al, 2005 Event Operations Model, on the implementation and delivery of your event
5. Develop a risk assessment identifying some of the key H&S issues and how you will mitigate risk and implement H&S for your event
6. Create an evaluation tool to determine whether you have met your objectives and KPIs for the event
Assessment Objectives/Rationale:
The assessment involves the application of event operations management techniques to a specific event to place theory into practice and to demonstrate your understanding of the practicality of such techniques. In this instance you will be encouraged to apply the theory learnt to your chosen event through using academic secondary sources. The assessment is based on a formal, professionally produced report where you will demonstrate how your event has been conceived, planned, implemented and evaluated with the underpinning of theoretical content.
