First, discussion – summary of results (what do the results tell say? Did we answer our research questions. For example, There is not much literature examining women diagnosed at advanced stages of breast cancer. For this study, we examined disparities in surgery and radiation therapy. This study shows there are associations between surgery and radiation therapy. There was a significant difference between race and ethnicity by surgery and radiation therapy (p<0.0005 and p<.001 respectively) for women diagnosed with late-stage cancer. What does this mean? Referring back to the questions and results to discuss the meaning. Another example, Survival among black women is lower compared to other racial and ethnic groups. In other words, black women are more likely to die at late-stages of breast cancer. This is in line with findings from serveral studies. Author et al. (2010) found survival among black women is lower. This is what I am looking for in the discussion. Stick to the topics of the paper For future research, as stated in the original instructions, what can be added to extend this research and make recommendations. Example: Review recommended treatment types for late-stage breast cancer specifically chemo and targeted therapies. The paper written mentions looking at vitamin d levels for early stage cancer. This paper addresses late stage. What can be done to extend our knowledge for woment with late stage cancer?
