For this writing assignment you are asked to choose a specific research field within the humanities and provide a history of the discipline including, in particular, the means by which it both distinguished itself from and entails other fields.

I wanna let you know that my discipline is Linguistics, specifically, PRAGMATICS, my interests in Speech Act.
